That's because I have recently accepted a writer position with Odyssey Online! Each week I am tasked to write an article about Disney, something in the news, or something that's on my mind in which other people can relate to.
As of today, my first two articles have been published. One has to do with my (and every other theatre nerd's) current obsession, Hamilton the Musical, and the other is five simple yet important reasons why you should extend your Disney College Program, featuring a sappy photo of my friends' last night watching Wishes. I have also added a new page to my blog that will feature my Odyssey articles, similar to the BroadwayWorld page.
I have been going through quite a transitional period over the last few months. It was very difficult saying goodbye to my friends who were heading back home. I have also been dealing with a few family things, as one does. And of course, I am trying to figure out what I am going to do once my extension is complete. Having all of this on my mind has made me a quiet person to be around, because I feel like I am constantly pondering everything. I am trying my best to ignore it and live in the moment when I am around people, but the minute my head hits the pillow, it all rushes into my mind at once, making sleep almost nonexistent.
However, even with the lack of sleep, I am surprisingly calm about it all. If this were happening to me three years ago, I'd be having panic attacks over the stress. I'm honestly proud of myself for how I am handling things. I guess a part of growing up is learning that this is all a part of life, and I have to deal with it one way or another.
That got deep really fast. Anyway, one thing is for certain. As long as I have a job, I do plan on (as of right now) staying in Florida past May. "But what about New York?!" Glad you asked. That dream is being put on hold for a little while longer as I start saving some money and adulting a little more. At the very least, I hope to take a visit there ASAP.
And lastly, speaking of visits, I am going home in a few days!! I planned a very last minute and short vacation home to spend some time with my family and friends and to clear my head.
