I need to get better at posting these reflections at the end of the month, because you'd be surprised how much can happen in the first few weeks of a month.
But you'll find out about that craziness next post.
March 2015 was, in a sense, fantastic. I got to spend a week in Florida with some of my favorite people, conducted my first BroadwayWorld interview, and was finally contacted to interview for a Disney Professional Internship. It was a crazy time, and I was also balancing homework, work, and group projects galore. As you can see, I survived, when there were times I was surprised I was waking up the next morning.
Instead of explaining my week in Florida, below is my first vlog to catch all the Disney magic!
And although it was posted on the 2nd of April, this was my final exciting thing of the month, my first BroadwayWorld interview! It was with Alana Feld, EVP of Feld Entertainment (Ringling Bros, Disney on Ice, Disney LIVE!, etc). Check it out here.
And lastly, the interview with Disney. Unfortunately I received word last week that I was no longer in consideration for that position. It was humiliating, humbling, and most of all, disappointing. I honestly thought that this was it: I was going to move to Florida and continue my career with Disney like everyone, including myself, expected of me. And to discover that, at this point, it wasn't happening, almost felt like I let a lot of people down. But I have come to realize that it didn't matter who I let down, all that mattered was that I was okay with the rejection, and I needed to move on and find out the next step. And, at least I have some time before graduation to see where I will end up. It's terrifying not knowing the future, but that's sort of been the theme of this year, hasn't it?
So that's March in a nutshell. I know this is quite a shorter post, but the next few month appear to have A LOT happening. Oh! And as of today, only 25 days until Commencement!
